SLOVAKIA CULTURE-BOUND TRIPS - ONE-DAY TOURS, STARTPOINT: BRATISLAVA


Showcasing some of the many fascinating spots to be found in Slovakia, we would like to present a list of selected places  as you can see below. Please note this is to give you some idea of how to craft a tailor-made programme to perfectly suit your requirements and preferencies.


Trip One: Piestany - the spa town...... Trnava - the little Rome

Duration: 6 hours

  • Piestany

visit to the world famous spa town, a stroll round the centre and spa island (specialising in the treatment of isciatica and motoric diseases), opportunity to buy spa waffles and souvenirs, visit to the Museum of Balneology.

  • Trnava

city sightseeing; in 17th century Trnava became a university centre and is famous for numerous sacral buildings, among which the Archbishop's Palace is the most memorable.


Trip Two: Banska Stiavnica - UNESCO town......Kremnica - gold city

Duration: 10 hours 

Available from  May - October, every day except Mondays, in April avail. from Tuesday - Saturday.

  • The Manor House of St. Anton

A lovely baroque classicist chateau with a spectacular English park, nowadays a venue for hunting exhibition - Slovakia´s unique. Symbolizing calendar, the chateau has 4 entrances, 7 arcades, 12 chimneys, 52 rooms and 365 windows.

  • Banska Stiavnica

A unique and archaic town UNESCO listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site. To many this is the most beautiful and picturesque town to be found in the country. This royal medieval town with numerous monuments knew prosperous times during the era of gold and silver mining and is globally one of the most productive centres of mining with the world´s first technical university founded back in 1764.

  • Kremnica

The Town Monument Reservation; Kremnica once ranked among the most influencial and richest towns of Kingdom of Hungary for the highest gold and silver production. The mint of Kremnica produced golden and silver coins, gold florints and later the ducats, most favourite and valuable for their high-quality in Europe.


Trip Three: Nitra- the ancient city ....... Bojnice - romantic Chateaux

Duration: 8 hours

Available from May - September, every day except Mondays

  • Nitra 

is Slovakia´s fifth largest and one of the oldest cities. Historically, it is the earliest cultural centre in the country notable for introduction of the old Slavonic alphabet. The town with the first known Christian church in Slovakia and the capital of the oldest independent state in Slovakia - Principality of Nitra.
Visitors have a chance to take a closer look around on a city tour by „Nitra express" - a small sightseeing train.

  • Bojnice

First mentioned in 1113, with its surviving linden tree planted in 1301 in the romantic garden around the castle, Bojnice is one of the most beautiful romantic chateaux, reminicent of the Loire Chateaux. The garden includes an appealing ZOO .
Tours can be enlarged by visits to" Prepostska Cave", a place once inhabited by a group of Neanderthals; with  museum of prehistoric Slovakia to be found inside.


Trip Four: The Boat Mill Kolarovo...... Komarno....... Basilica Esztergom

Duration: 8 hours

Available: May - up to 15th October

Visit to a boat mill implying a small historic exhibition inside. Situated in Kolarovo in the south-west of Slovakia on the water road running down the Little Danube river, it is the only floating mill in Slovakia to be land-connected via the longest wooden bridge in Europe. The mill is part of natural area with several technical monuments. Refreshment in a traditional tavern available.

  • Komarno

This medieval town is the most southern and lowest located town point in Slovakia. The best known modern project situated in Komarno - the Courtyard of Europe - is European unique; a new square with buildings of diverse architecture styles typical of individual regions of Europe; further visit of the fort of Komarno originating in 16th century - the largest bastion fortification in Europe.

  • Esztergom - Hungary

Former Hungary´s capital from the 10th to 13th cen, t beautiful city is one of the oldest Hungarian towns with rich history. It was the capital of Hungary from 10th till 13th century. Basilica of Esztergom is Hungary´s largest church. One of the recent important sights is the Bridge of Maria Valeria which connects the town with the city of Sturovo, Slovakia.

5-days Tour - Castles and Chateaux 

  • Day One: Bratislava Sightseeing trip

Sightseeing and a walk through the historical centre, visit of The Bratislava Castle, St. Martin´s Cathedral, The Old Mayor´s House. Visit of the Wall Tapestries Museum in the Primate´s Palace. In the afternoon you can enjoy leisure time in Bratislava Old Town and explore some of City's museums or relax in one of the many local cafés. Our recommendation for the evening: visiting Opera or Ballet in the National Theatre. Tickets available on request.

  • Day Two: Little Carpathians "Cerveny Kamen"- Devin Castle

Visit to the Castle of Cerveny Kamen to be followed by a visit to a private Majolika pottery manufactory offering discount price shopping. Wine tasting and lunch consisting of selected traditional meals in Pezinok in the wine region of Small Carpathians and tour of the ruins of the Devin Castle.

  • Day Three: Nitra - Chateaux Topolcianky - Banská Štiavnica - Banska Bystrica

In Nitra, known as the the bishop´s residence since 880 and a former Great Moravian seat, you can visit the castle and downtown. Outside Nitra, the tour stops at Topolcianky a monumental mansion situated in the middle of a large English park to take you through the silver and gold mining town of Banska Stiavnica (339 objects, Gothic St Catharine´s Church from 1488). The day tour is ended in  the hunting mansion of Antol with hunting exposition. Accommodation provided in Banska Bystrica.

  • Day Four: Banská Bystrica - Bojnice Chateau - Trencin

The castle area in Banska Bystrica dates back to 14th century and is part of the national cultural heritage. The fortification of the ancient mining city is built in the renaissance style. The Church of the Virgin Mary and Burghers Houses were built after the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. Visit to  the romantic Bojnice Chateau built in style of chateaux on the Loire River. Accommodation in Trencin.

  • Day Five: Trencin - Piestany - Trnava - Dolna Krupa - Bratislava

The old Roman residence, Trencin, is dominated by the Castle from the 13th century in which one can admire a collection of Art Nouveau furniture. The mansion house and Chateau in Dolna Krupa with his musical pavilion is known for the visits by the famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven, once a friend of Count Brunswick's family. He is believed to have composed the well-known Moonshine Sonata there. The bishop´s seat, Trnava, is became famous as  the city of thousand churches. Accommodation in Bratislava
